I've been looking around at many guides over the internet to do 3310 to 3315 conversation, and I was looking to purchase a dual bus data cable anyway. Would this be enough to convert the phone to a 3315, or would I need a flasher cable too?

Some guides say that the KNok-Phoenix build 1 program and a Data Cable is enough to do this process without having to upgrade the phone to software version 5.47. This is just by click the 3310 to 3315 button in the program. Can neone help.

The http://clix.to/gsmschwantz website says u need a flasher cable to upgrade to 3310 v5.47. My version is V4.45 and is locked to the virgin mobile network. I want to at least unlock it, but I'm dead interesting in getting the new features.

I don't think a flasher cable is needed to upgrade the software, I'm dead sure u don't, but if it says a flasher cable is needed, I will try and get hold of one. Data cables only cost £10 now for 3310.

there only 8pound in leeds, and you get some sortware, but i think its only the demo version of logo manager.

Is there any chance of a program that can extract all my phone book data etc to a file so I don't lose it using a Data Cable??

it doesnt work. i tried it, my phone switched on perfectly but i cant see the extra features :( i check the help file and it said "* Added 3310->3315 upgrade function.
Possible on NHM-5 fw version 5.45
and later" so i guess its not possible :(

You need flasher cables to flash the v.5.57 software to the phone,uness u have that version,the mbus t do the upgrade

I know sure I did it with lower version..(<5.47) but yes indeed everybody say's you need 5.47 or higher.. So there are 2 ways..
-I looked very very bad :) / I have bad memory (yes hmm this could be true all the beer :D ) and it was 5.47 ot higher
-I got lcuky or something..

so outcome...
jus try it ..you won't kill your phone if it doesn't succeed..
and else you must upgrade... (also very easy)

so if you do have a new one,just use the m-bus and the 3310-->3315 feature of knokpheonix, y didnt they make it 2 do all SW versions??

I'm sure this can ONLY be done with flasher cables as the file is 'flashed' to the eeprom chip with the use of a data image hence the word flasher. M/Fbus are datatype only?

how much are flashing cables any way 5 data cables cost

why dont u lot just buy the flasher cables and unlock the old way with repair flashes to certain addresses on the phones software??cheaper until u have the datacable to unlock in less time??

just download NOkia data suite to back up your phone book, it works hell easy just move the names that appear from the sim into the PC part and its backed up on your computer. Same goes for inbox and outbox messages!!!

I wud recommend havin a flasher cable 2, because u can take a FULL BACKUP of tha fones software wit it, & if it gets ****ed during tha upgrade u can easily save ur fones life! Otherwize it wud be a useless fone!

yep, i did the 3310 - 3315 upgrade and it is wicked. u get extra ringtones. pic msg editor, automatic keypad lock and loads more stuff :D

u dont get extra ringtones admin, u have to edit that urself,personally 3315 is crap
u want 3350 upgrade...hell yeah.but im gettin a new phone soon (colour) i hope so ah well

i used a normal cable on my m8s fone wid knok phoenix, just bakup da fonebook using logomanger and make a flash bakup! u cant go wrong! :D

You're gonna need a flasher acable and an mbus cable in upgrading cellphones! :)
